Apple may soon increase the prices of some of its products as rising memory and storage chip costs put pressure on the company’s manufacturing expenses. The development comes amid growing global demand for advanced semiconductor components, particularly those used in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
According to industry reports, the rapid expansion of AI-powered data centres has significantly increased demand for memory chips, creating supply constraints across the technology sector. As a result, prices of key components have risen sharply, affecting electronics manufacturers worldwide.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently indicated that the company has been absorbing much of the additional cost burden to avoid passing higher expenses on to customers. However, he acknowledged that the current market environment has made it increasingly difficult to continue doing so.
Cook noted that Apple is actively working to manage supply-chain pressures and control costs, but the sustained increase in memory chip prices has become a major challenge for the company.
While Apple has suggested that price adjustments may be necessary, the company has not announced when such changes could take effect or which products may be impacted.

There has been no official confirmation regarding potential price increases for flagship devices such as the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or other Apple products. Nevertheless, industry analysts believe that continued pressure on semiconductor costs could eventually influence pricing across premium consumer electronics categories.
The pricing discussion comes at a time when Apple is also preparing for a major leadership transition. Current CEO Tim Cook is expected to step down from his role in September, with senior executive John Ternus widely viewed as a potential successor.
The leadership change will coincide with a period of growing challenges for the technology industry, including supply-chain uncertainties and rising component costs.
If Apple moves forward with product price increases, consumers in many regions could face higher costs for new devices. Markets already dealing with currency fluctuations, import duties, and inflationary pressures may see an even greater impact.
