All India Students’ Association (AISA) National President Neha Bora is set to visit Patna on Monday as part of the organisation’s ongoing campaign seeking the release of students and youth activists who remain behind bars following recent protests. AISA has reaffirmed that its movement will continue until every detained protester is released.
Announcing her visit, Bora said the campaign is about more than securing the freedom of arrested activists. According to her, it is also a fight to uphold democratic values and ensure justice for those who participated in the protests. She appealed to students, supporters, and members of civil society to stand in solidarity with the jailed protesters and strengthen the movement.
During her visit to Patna, Neha Bora is expected to meet the imprisoned protesters and interact with their family members as well as others associated with the campaign. The student organisation has maintained that it will continue raising the issue until all detained activists are granted their freedom.
AISA has reiterated that its campaign will be carried forward through peaceful and democratic means. The organisation argues that the detention of protesters is not merely a student issue but one that concerns civil liberties and the protection of democratic rights.
