US President Donald Trump on Monday confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been formally invited to join the US-led initiative known as the “Board of Peace.” Speaking briefly to reporters, Trump stated that an invitation has been extended to the Russian leader.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also acknowledged that President Putin received the invitation through diplomatic channels. He stated that Moscow is currently reviewing the proposal in detail and anticipates further communication with the American side to gain a deeper understanding of the framework and objectives of the initiative.
The White House had announced the establishment of the Board of Peace on Friday. According to the official statement, the body is expected to play a key role in implementing President Trump’s 20-point plan aimed at bringing a permanent end to the conflict in Gaza. The initiative focuses on post-war reconstruction, ensuring long-term stability, and guiding Gaza’s transition toward peace and development.
The Board of Peace has been tasked with providing strategic oversight, coordinating international assistance, and maintaining accountability throughout the rebuilding process.
In addition, the United States has set up the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) to carry out the second phase of Trump’s broader Gaza peace plan. To support this effort, a founding executive board and a separate Gaza Executive Board have also been constituted.
