Security agencies have stepped up preparations across the national capital ahead of the second protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 1 PM, prompting authorities to implement extensive monitoring and crowd-management measures.
According to police officials, the protest has received official permission. However, to maintain law and order, multiple layers of security have been deployed around the venue and nearby areas. Additional police personnel have been stationed at key locations, while barricades have been installed on surrounding roads to regulate traffic movement and prevent disruptions.
Authorities have equipped the protest site with a network of CCTV cameras to monitor activities in real time. In addition, nearly 270 body-worn cameras have been issued to police officers on duty to ensure transparency and maintain a detailed record of events. Dedicated video-recording teams from Delhi Police are also present at the location to document developments throughout the day.
Officials said the Delhi Police Special Branch is closely monitoring both on-the-ground developments and online discussions related to the protest. Monitoring of social media platforms has been intensified, as authorities believe digital campaigns and online messaging could influence turnout and public sentiment surrounding the event.
As a precautionary measure, security checks have been strengthened at major transportation hubs, including the airport, railway stations, interstate bus terminals, and entry points along Delhi’s borders. Vehicles entering the city are being screened to prevent any potential security concerns.
Senior police officials have been deployed in the field to supervise security arrangements and coordinate law-enforcement efforts. Reserve forces have also been kept on standby to respond quickly if required. Police have urged participants to conduct the protest peacefully and cooperate with authorities throughout the event.
The heightened security comes days after an incident in Jaipur on June 15, where CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was allegedly assaulted during a public demonstration. Following that episode, law enforcement agencies have adopted a more cautious approach toward gatherings associated with the organisation.
The Cockroach Janta Party initially emerged as a satirical social media campaign. Over recent weeks, however, it has gained significant online attention and evolved into a more structured protest platform. The movement has attracted growing support, particularly among young people and active social media users, resulting in larger public gatherings and increased visibility.
