PM Modi Says Voters Gave Opposition a ‘65-Volt Shock’, Slams RJD for Promoting ‘Rangdaari’ Culture

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during an election rally in Sitamarhi on Saturday, accusing the party of promoting a culture of crime and fear among children.

Modi said that it was shocking to see videos of children in RJD’s campaign expressing their desire to become “rangdaar” (local goons) when they grow up. “It is disturbing to see RJD making children say they want to become ‘rangdaars’ when they grow up. Bihar does not want a government that symbolises ‘katta’ (guns), ‘kushasan’ (misgovernance), cruelty, and corruption,” he said.

Viral Video Sparks Political Row

The Prime Minister’s comments referred to a viral video circulating on social media showing a boy named Keshav Kumar holding a flag featuring Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. When asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, the boy replied, “I want to be a rangdaar, I’ll loot and kill.”
The child was also seen criticising the BJP government and alleging “jungle raj” in Bihar. Modi called the video “deeply worrying” and said Bihar needs development, education, and employment, not crime and chaos.

“Bihar Wants Startups, Not Kattas”

PM Modi said the people of Bihar were rejecting the RJD because they feared a return of lawlessness if the party came to power.
“Wherever I go, people tell me we don’t want a ‘katta sarkar’, we want an NDA government,” he said.
“Bihar no longer needs hands up; it needs a start-up. The NDA promotes school bags, computers, cricket bats, and hockey sticks, not country-made pistols,” Modi added, contrasting his government’s youth-focused policies with the opposition’s alleged record of crime.

“Voters Gave a 65-Volt Shock to the Opposition”

Hailing the record 65.08% voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar elections, the highest in 25 years, Modi said the people had given a “65-volt shock” to the Opposition.
“The opposition can’t sleep now. This high turnout is a clear indication of people’s faith in the NDA,” the Prime Minister declared.

“Brand Ambassador of Mithila Culture”

Highlighting the cultural legacy of the region, Modi called himself a “brand ambassador” of Mithila’s heritage, noting that he had gifted Madhubani paintings to several foreign dignitaries.
He also pointed to Bihar’s progress in the fisheries sector, and took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying, “I hear some people are now practising how to sink,” referring to Gandhi’s recent visit to a muddy pond in support of fishermen.
