A controversy has erupted ahead of the release of former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane’s memoir, “Four Stars of Destiny,” following allegations that an unpublished version of the book was leaked. In response, the Delhi Police Special Cell has issued a notice to Penguin Random House India seeking clarification on the matter.

According to police officials, the action was taken after reports surfaced that copies of the unreleased book were being circulated on social media and other digital platforms. The publishing house has been asked to respond to a series of questions and provide detailed explanations regarding the alleged leak.

A senior police officer confirmed that the Special Cell formally approached the publisher through a notice, requesting clarity on the status of the book and the claims of unauthorised distribution. Following complaints about the suspected illegal circulation of the book, an FIR has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway.

Sources indicate that conflicting claims have emerged regarding the authenticity and spread of the alleged leaked versions, further intensifying the dispute. The controversy has drawn attention not only to the publisher and the former Army Chief but also to certain senior political figures.

Investigators are now examining how the memoir may have been accessed and whether it was unlawfully shared before its official publication. Further legal steps will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing probe.
