Newly sworn-in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay delivered an emotional and optimistic address to the people of the State on Sunday, promising transparent governance and a fresh political approach under his leadership. He said Tamil Nadu is entering a new phase focused on secularism, social justice and people-centric administration.
Speaking after the oath-taking ceremony at Nehru Stadium in Chennai, Vijay urged citizens to stand united for the progress of the State. He assured that his government would work with honesty and commitment to fulfil the expectations of the public.

The Chief Minister shared that his father worked as an assistant director in the film industry and the family had seen difficult times closely. Because of those experiences, he understands the realities of poverty and hunger. Vijay also expressed gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu, saying the love and support he received from the public helped him achieve success in cinema.
He added that his decision to enter politics was driven by a sense of responsibility and gratitude toward the people, to serve society beyond the entertainment industry.
In his address, Vijay made it clear that his government would avoid unrealistic commitments and focus only on promises that can genuinely be fulfilled. He said politics should be based on trust and accountability rather than empty assurances.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that many goals may appear difficult at first, but he expressed confidence that collective public support can make even the toughest challenges achievable. According to him, the strength of the people will play a key role in shaping the State’s future.
