Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Kyiv hopes the escalating tensions involving Iran will not divert the United States’ attention away from Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia. He emphasised that American support remains crucial to Ukraine throughout the conflict.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday (March 14, 2026), Zelenskyy acknowledged that Washington is currently heavily focused on developments in the Middle East. However, he stressed that Ukraine does not want the situation there to weaken the strong backing it receives from the United States. His remarks were made public on Sunday (March 15).
“We do not want to lose the Americans,” Zelenskyy said, underlining the importance of continued cooperation with Washington.
The Ukrainian president also noted that Kyiv is willing to support the United States and its allies amid rising tensions in the Middle East. According to him, Ukraine is prepared to share its experience and expertise in drone technology, which has played a significant role in its defence efforts.

Zelenskyy expressed hope that despite the growing crisis in the Middle East, the United States will continue to remain engaged in supporting Ukraine as the war with Russia continues.
Amid the prolonged conflict, Ukraine has been actively working to maintain political, military, and strategic support from its international partners.
