Iran has once again issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel, stating that any renewed “aggressive action” against its territory will be met with an immediate and forceful response. The statement came shortly after US President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ongoing ceasefire to allow more time for potential peace negotiations.
According to Iran’s military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari, the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to strike pre-identified targets with maximum strength if provoked. He emphasised that any fresh attack would result in a harsher retaliation than before, signalling Iran’s readiness to escalate if necessary.
Despite the ceasefire extension, uncertainty persists over the possibility of meaningful peace talks. Reports indicate that US Vice President JD Vance cancelled a planned visit to Pakistan after Iran did not confirm its participation in the proposed discussions.
Meanwhile, Iran has also raised doubts over the intent behind extending the ceasefire. An adviser to Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf described the move as a “tactic to buy time” for a potential surprise strike. The adviser further argued that the continued US blockade of Iranian ports is equivalent to an act of war and should be answered with military force.

Adding to the rising tensions, Iran’s joint military command reiterated its warning, stating that if the situation does not improve, a “powerful attack” on predetermined targets could be launched.
For now, the situation in the region remains tense, with the future largely dependent on whether diplomatic efforts materialise into concrete negotiations.
