Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Israel has carried out a major strike on Iran’s key energy hub, the South Pars gas complex. This attack was confirmed by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz.
According to Israeli officials, the military launched a “powerful strike” on the South Pars complex, one of Iran’s most critical petrochemical and gas production sites. The facility is part of the world’s largest natural gas field and plays a vital role in Iran’s energy infrastructure.
Iranian state media reported that the attack primarily targeted support units responsible for supplying electricity, water, and oxygen to the facility. Authorities claimed that the main gas processing plant did not suffer significant damage.
Another Iranian news agency reported hearing multiple explosions in the area during the strike, causing panic among nearby residents.

The strike comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran, threatening to target its power plants and bridges if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened.
This is not the first time the South Pars complex has been targeted. Israel had previously carried out a similar strike last month and had stated that the operation was conducted independently, without involvement from the United States.
