Israel Launches ‘Preventive’ Strike on Iran; Explosions Reported in Tehran

By: The Trek News Desk

Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply after Israel confirmed it had carried out what it described as a “preventive” military strike against Iran. The announcement from Israel’s defence minister was followed by reports of explosions heard in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

According to Media reports, witnesses in Tehran reported hearing a powerful blast. Iranian state television later acknowledged that an explosion had occurred but did not immediately provide details regarding the target, cause, or extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, Israel has placed its population on high alert amid fears of a possible retaliatory strike. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that warning sirens were activated across several parts of the country. Emergency notifications were also sent directly to civilians’ mobile devices, advising them to remain close to protected areas.

In its statement, the IDF said the alert was issued as a precautionary measure in preparation for the possibility of missiles being launched from Iran toward Israeli territory. The military urged residents to follow official safety guidelines and stay near shelters until further notice.

With both sides yet to release detailed operational information, the situation remains fluid. The developments have heightened concerns of broader regional instability, as the international community closely monitors the unfolding events.
