Talks End in Florida; Zelensky Calls Meeting with Trump Team ‘Constructive’
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he held a “very constructive” conversation with US President Donald Trump’s negotiating team, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner after the three-day peace discussions concluded.

Key Leaders Set to Meet in London on Monday
A significant round of in-person talks is scheduled for Monday in London, where Macron, Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will assess the stalled peace process.
European governments remain wary of Washington’s early draft proposals and are pushing for their own security framework, potentially involving long-term guarantees for Ukraine and even a multinational peacekeeping mission.
Starmer has called the concept of a “coalition of the willing” essential, arguing it would form the backbone of Ukraine’s security in any future ceasefire period.
Moscow Warns Peacekeeping Troops Would Be ‘Legitimate Targets’
Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed the Western idea of deploying peacekeepers to Ukraine, warning that any foreign troops inside the country would be treated as “legitimate targets.”
The statement has further complicated Europe’s efforts to build a viable post-war security model.

US envoy Steve Witkoff returned from Kremlin talks days earlier with no breakthrough, yet both he and Ukraine’s new chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, issued a joint statement saying they had agreed on a broad framework for Ukraine’s future security arrangements and deterrence capabilities.
