On the occasion of Navy Day, President Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings to Indian Navy personnel, veterans, and their families, honouring their discipline, bravery, and unwavering commitment to national service.
Sharing her message on X, President Murmu highlighted that from guarding India’s maritime borders to protecting strategic national interests, naval personnel continue to demonstrate exceptional courage and vigilance. She noted that the Navy not only keeps the nation’s sea routes secure but also plays a crucial role in humanitarian relief and disaster-response missions, reflecting its sense of responsibility and compassion.
Navy Day is observed every year on December 4 to commemorate the Indian Navy’s decisive role in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, during which naval operations inflicted significant damage on the enemy and proved pivotal to India’s victory.
In her message, the President stated, “Warm greetings to all Indian Navy personnel, veterans, and their families on Navy Day. The nation salutes your courage, alertness, and steadfast dedication to duty.”
