In celebration of National Entrepreneurship Day, Raghunath Girls Post Graduate College hosted a special screening of an inspirational documentary aimed at motivating students toward entrepreneurship. The event was organised jointly by the Economics Department and the Industry-Academia Integration & Skill Development Cell, under the guidance of Principal Prof. Nivedita Kumari.

Spotlight on Local Entrepreneurship

The documentary highlighted the success story of Sana Khan, a Meerut-based entrepreneur who transformed cow dung into vermicompost, building a business with a multi-crore turnover through innovation and dedication. Sana Khan has received national recognition for her work, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising her efforts on his Mann Ki Baat program. Additionally, the Meerut administration appointed her as the city’s Cleanliness Brand Ambassador.

Her vermicompost initiative not only provides high-quality organic fertiliser for farmers but also enhances soil fertility and promotes environmental sustainability, making her a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs.

College Initiative and Student Participation

The event was coordinated by Dr Shailja, with key contributions from Innovation Cell President Diksha Yajurvedi, Convener Dr Upasana, Economics Department Head Prof. Neena Batra, and Prof. Chhaya Tevatia. Students, including Sakshi Lodhi, Parul, Mansu, Payal, Humaira, Mansi, and Habiba, actively participated in the event.

Media coordinators Prof. Sunita and Dr Poonam Lata Singh emphasised that such initiatives foster self-reliance and innovation among young women. Principal Prof. Nivedita Kumari expressed her satisfaction with the event’s success and pledged to organise similar programs in the future.
