NEET UG 2026 Notification Released, NTA Opens Online Registration

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially issued the notification for the NEET UG 2026 examination and has commenced the online application process. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is March 8, 2026, up to 9:00 PM.

As per NTA guidelines, candidates must complete the payment of the application fee by March 8, 2026, till 11:50 PM using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. After the application window closes, a correction facility will be available from March 10 to March 12, 2026, allowing applicants to make necessary changes to their submitted forms.

NEET UG is the only national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical and allied courses across India. Over the past two years, more than 20 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. In 2025, the examination was conducted on May 4, and the results were declared on June 14.

Application Fee Details
For candidates opting for examination centres within India, the application fee has been fixed as follows:
General category candidates are required to pay ₹1700,
General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates ₹1600,
While SC/ST/PwBD and Third-Gender candidates need to pay ₹1000.
For candidates choosing exam centres outside India, the application fee is ₹9500 for all categories.

Exam Date and Schedule
The NEET UG 2026 examination will be held on May 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a total duration of three hours (180 minutes). Details regarding the examination centre will be mentioned on the admit card. Other important dates, including city intimation slips, admit card download, answer key release, and result declaration, will be announced later on the official websites nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in.

NTA has clarified that applications will be accepted only through online mode. Candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph, a scanned signature, and valid address proof while filling out the form. Submission of more than one application by a candidate may lead to cancellation.

Applicants have also been advised to provide their own or their parents’/guardians’ active email ID and mobile number, as all official communication from NTA will be sent only through these channels.
