A brief protest inside the exhibition area of the AI Impact Summit created a momentary disruption at the high-profile global event being held in the national capital. Police detained around 10 individuals following the incident, restoring order within minutes.

According to a senior police official, the group began raising slogans inside Hall No. 5 of the venue. Security personnel swiftly intervened and escorted the protesters out before taking them to Tilak Marg Police Station. Authorities emphasised that any attempt to disturb law and order would not be tolerated.

The protesters were seen wearing or carrying white T-shirts displaying images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump. The shirts featured slogans such as “India-U.S. Trade Deal,” “Epstein Files,” and “PM is Compromised,” which triggered heated exchanges between some attendees and the demonstrators.

While the group did not carry any party flags or official political symbols, one individual reportedly claimed affiliation with the Indian Youth Congress.

A Delhi Police officer on duty stated that security measures inside the exhibition halls would be further strengthened following what was described as an “unfortunate episode.” Although the protest lasted only a few minutes, it caught many guests and delegates off guard, given the international stature of the summit.

The AI Impact Summit is being held from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam. The event has drawn heads of state, leading artificial intelligence experts, academics, researchers, technology industry leaders, and philanthropists from around the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2026 edition of the summit in the presence of several world leaders and heads of major global tech companies.

A student visitor from Ludhiana explained that general attendees are required to complete online registration through the summit’s official website. Upon registration, a QR code containing the visitor’s name and institutional details is sent via email. This QR code must be scanned at entry points to gain access to the Bharat Mandapam premises.

Police officials confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. Security agencies are working to ensure that the remainder of the internationally significant event proceeds without further disruption.
