US Releases Over 11,000 Documents Linked to Epstein Case in Largest Disclosure Yet

By: The Trek News Desk

The United States Department of Justice (DoJ) has made public a massive new set of documents connected to investigations involving the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The latest disclosure, described as the largest so far, includes thousands of files such as emails, photographs, investigative records, videos, and audio material.

According to the DoJ, more than 11,000 documents have been released in this phase alone, with a total data size of nearly 10GB. The material reportedly includes around 400 videos, evidence-related spreadsheets, press clippings, and various audio recordings.

Released Under Legal Mandate
The disclosure follows the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act by the US Congress, which required all related documents to be made public by December 19. However, citing the sheer volume of data, the Justice Department clarified that it is not feasible to release everything at once. As a result, the files are being published in stages.

The DoJ also stated that sensitive information, particularly details that could identify survivors, has been redacted to protect privacy.

Political Backlash Grows
The staggered release has sparked sharp political reactions in Washington. Leaders from the Democratic Party, along with several Republicans, including figures aligned with President Donald Trump, have criticised the Justice Department. They argue that failing to release all documents within the deadline amounts to a violation of legal obligations set by Congress.

What Has Been Released So Far
Before this latest disclosure, the Justice Department had already released several thousand files across seven separate batches over the previous Friday and Saturday. Many of these files were organised into sub-folders, ranging from single photographs to multi-page documents. A significant number of pages were heavily redacted, with some sections entirely blacked out.

All the released material forms part of the evidence collected during two federal criminal investigations into Epstein.

More Revelations Expected
Given the scale of the latest document dump, analysts and journalists say it may take considerable time to review the material thoroughly. Media organisations and investigative teams are currently examining the files, and further significant revelations are expected as scrutiny continues.
