Plane Crash in Baramati Claims Lives of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Four Others

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar lost his life on Wednesday in a tragic plane accident in Baramati, located in Pune district. Four other people travelling with him also died in the crash.

According to initial reports, the aircraft met with the accident while attempting to land at Baramati. Officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that the plane crashed during the landing approach, leaving no survivors among those on board.

The aircraft involved in the incident was a Learjet 45 operated by Delhi-based charter company VSR. Sources said Ajit Pawar had departed from Mumbai earlier in the day and was heading to Baramati to attend a political rally.

Following the crash, local authorities and emergency response teams rushed to the spot and began rescue and relief operations. Meanwhile, aviation authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The sudden demise of one of Maharashtra’s most prominent political leaders has sent shockwaves across the state, with leaders from various parties expressing deep grief over the tragedy.
