As tensions escalate across West Asia, the NATO has strongly condemned Iran for targeting Turkey, reaffirming that the alliance stands firmly with all its member states.
In an official statement, NATO spokesperson Allison Hart described Iran’s actions in the region as unacceptable and expressed serious concern over the targeting of Turkish territory. She emphasised that the alliance remains fully committed to safeguarding its members and ensuring collective security.
Hart further noted that NATO’s deterrence and defence capabilities remain robust across all operational domains. She highlighted that the alliance’s air and missile defence systems are fully active and prepared to respond to emerging threats.

Earlier, Turkey’s Defence Ministry reported that an Iranian ballistic missile fired toward Turkish airspace was intercepted and destroyed by NATO’s air defence system. Following the incident, Ankara is expected to hold consultations with NATO and other allied nations to assess the situation and coordinate next steps.
Security analysts warn that such incidents could widen the scope of the regional conflict. Authorities, however, continue to closely monitor developments as diplomatic and military channels remain active.
