Meta has officially introduced its second-generation Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI smart glasses to the Indian market. The lineup begins at ₹39,900, with availability across Ray-Ban India outlets and major optical retailers nationwide.
Sharper Video, Longer Battery and Upgraded Meta AI
According to Meta, the new Gen 2 glasses offer notable improvements, including:
• 3K Ultra HD video recording
• Ultrawide HDR support
• A more capable Meta AI assistant
Battery life is rated at up to 8 hours, while fast charging delivers 50% power in just 20 minutes. The bundled charging case adds another 48 hours of usage. Future updates will also enable hyperlapse and slow-motion recording modes.
Hindi Support and Deepika Padukone’s AI Voice
For the Indian market, Meta has upgraded the interaction experience with full Hindi language support. Users can also choose to interact with an AI voice modelled on Indian actor Deepika Padukone, a localised feature designed to enhance user familiarity and engagement.

UPI Payments Coming Soon
Meta announced that UPI payments will soon be integrated into the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses. Users will simply have to look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay.”
Payments will be processed via UPI Lite and linked to the user’s WhatsApp-connected bank account, enabling hands-free, secure transactions.
New Styles and Fresh Colour Options
The Gen 2 collection will be available in three signature Ray-Ban designs:
• Wayfarer
• Skyler
• Headliner
Meta is also introducing seasonal colour variants such as Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet, and Shiny Asteroid Grey.
In a statement, the company said it is excited for more users across India to experience the latest generation of its smart eyewear.
