The military operation against Iran is rapidly escalating across the Middle East, with explosions reported in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Tensions soared in northern Israel on Saturday as the country activated its air defence systems to intercept incoming Iranian missiles, shortly after initiating a joint operation with the United States against Iran.
The Israel Defence Forces confirmed that its missile defence systems were fully operational to counter threats from Iran. Initial reports did not indicate any casualties or damage from the exchanges. Neighbouring Jordan also sounded air raid sirens as precautionary measures were taken.
U.S. President Donald Trump described the operation as a “major combat campaign” in Iran. He said the objective is to protect American citizens and eliminate imminent threats posed by the Iranian regime.
Iran had previously warned that it would retaliate following Israel’s air strikes. A senior Iranian official, speaking to the media, described Tehran’s expected response as “crushing and decisive,” signalling the potential for further escalation.

The regional security environment remains tense, with explosions reported in strategically sensitive areas. Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, while the Al Udeid air base in Qatar remains a key military hub. The incidents come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts in Washington to negotiate limits on Iran’s nuclear program, underscoring the high stakes of the conflict.
Authorities across the region continue to monitor the situation closely, as any significant military escalation could have serious consequences for stability in the Middle East.
