India issued a sharp rebuttal at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), slamming Pakistan for allegedly glorifying terrorism during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address.
The Indian delegation dismissed Sharif’s remarks on “Operation Sindoor” and the Pahalgam terror attack, labelling them as false narratives intended to mislead the international community.
Responding under the Right of Reply, Petal Gahlot, First Secretary at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, criticized Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism and accused its leadership of using global platforms to propagate lies and promote terror-linked agendas.
“This Assembly witnessed another display of absurd theatrics by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, who once again chose to glorify terrorism as a cornerstone of their foreign policy,” Gahlot said during her address.

She highlighted Pakistan’s role in sheltering extremist groups, specifically naming The Resistance Front (TRF), the outfit behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 innocent civilians. Gahlot also reminded the Assembly of Pakistan’s past support for Al-Qaeda and its leader, Osama bin Laden.
India Dismisses Pakistan’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ Claims
Refuting Prime Minister Sharif’s claim that India launched unprovoked aggression during Operation Sindoor, Gahlot clarified that the operation was a precision strike targeting terrorist infrastructure and posed no harm to civilians.
Mocking Sharif’s portrayal of a “military victory,” she remarked,
“If damaged hangars and destroyed runways are Pakistan’s idea of a win, then they are welcome to it.”
She further revealed that Pakistan’s own military had requested a ceasefire on May 10, exposing the reality behind their so-called success.

Disputing Claims of Downing Indian Jets
Sharif also claimed that Pakistan had shot down seven Indian fighter jets, a statement that India’s Air Force has strongly refuted.
In fact, according to Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, India successfully downed five Pakistani fighter aircraft and a key Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system during the operation.
The Indian Air Force emphasized that no Indian jets were lost, and labelled Pakistan’s assertions as baseless and misleading propaganda.
Strong Message from India
India concluded its reply by accusing Pakistan of consistently misusing international forums to peddle falsehoods while actively providing support to terrorism. It reiterated that Pakistan has no moral standing to lecture others, given its long-standing involvement with terror networks.
“India will continue to expose Pakistan’s duplicity and stand firm against terrorism and misinformation both at home and on the global stage,” Gahlot asserted.
India’s firm and fact-based response underscores its uncompromising stance against terrorism, disinformation, and attempts to distort global discourse.
