By: The Trek News Desk

In a major development in the Goa nightclub fire tragedy, Thai authorities have deported Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, the co-owners of the nightclub where a devastating fire claimed 25 lives on December 6. The incident had sparked nationwide outrage and raised serious concerns over safety compliance at nightlife venues.

According to official sources, the Luthra brothers, who jointly own the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, left India for Phuket shortly after the fatal blaze. As the investigation intensified, an Interpol Blue Notice was issued to trace their whereabouts.

Following coordinated efforts between the Indian Embassy and the Thai government, the two were taken into custody by Thai authorities in Phuket on December 11. They were subsequently placed on a flight to India on Tuesday. Videos circulating on social media showed the brothers at Bangkok airport ahead of their departure.

On arrival in India, the Luthras are expected to be handed over to Indian investigative agencies for further legal action and questioning in connection with the case.

Investigators have alleged serious lapses in fire safety measures and negligence on the part of the nightclub management. So far, the Goa Police have arrested five managers and staff members linked to the establishment as part of the ongoing probe.

The tragedy has also brought the role of local authorities under scrutiny, prompting a broader review of safety norms across nightlife establishments in Goa. The case has now become a focal point in the debate over accountability and enforcement of safety regulations in entertainment venues.
