Perplexity AI and HMRC were among the first to confirm the full recovery of their services following the incident.

Amazon Web Services is not just a cloud hosting provider, it’s the largest cloud infrastructure platform in the world. Thousands of businesses, from startups to governments, rely on AWS for web hosting, data storage, backend computing, and APIs.
As a result, when a core component like DNS fails, the effects ripple far beyond AWS itself. The internet today functions as a tightly interconnected system. Even platforms that don’t directly host on AWS may rely on third-party services, payment gateways, or API integrations that do.
That interconnectedness meant that a single point of failure triggered a cascade of disruption across the digital ecosystem.
