Tensions flared during the Bihar Assembly elections on Thursday as violence erupted in Lakhisarai district. In a shocking turn of events, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate Vijay Sinha’s convoy came under attack when he attempted to enter Khoriari village. Eyewitnesses reported that an angry mob surrounded his vehicle, hurled slippers, and shouted “Murdabad” slogans against him.

What Happened on the Ground:
Vijay Sinha had arrived at polling booths numbered 404 and 405 in Khoriari village to oversee the voting process. However, as his convoy approached the area, a group of locals stopped him from entering. Video clips circulating on social media show an agitated crowd encircling his car, shouting slogans, and creating chaos at the site.

Sinha alleged that the attack was orchestrated by supporters of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). “These are RJD’s goons. They are stopping me from entering the village. My polling agent was forced out of the booth and not allowed to vote,” Sinha said.

Pointing toward the violence, he added, “Just look at their hooliganism. This is happening at booth numbers 404 and 405 in Khoriari village. The administration must take strict action.”

Police and Administrative Response:
Following the attack, the local administration deployed additional police forces to bring the situation under control. According to official sources, several individuals involved in the incident have been identified, and an investigation is underway to trace the rest of the mob.

Political Context:
Vijay Sinha, contesting from the Lakhisarai constituency on a BJP ticket, is a key leader in the state’s ruling JD(U)-BJP alliance government. Known for his strong political presence in the region, Sinha has been a vocal critic of opposition parties, especially the RJD.

The incident has intensified political tensions in Bihar during the ongoing election phase. While the BJP has termed the attack as an “assault on democracy,” opposition leaders have demanded a fair and transparent inquiry. As the Election Commission monitors the situation closely, all eyes are now on how the administration and law enforcement respond to this violent episode.
