Trump Warns Iran of Stronger U.S. Response if Oil Flow Through Hormuz Is Disrupted

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying Washington will respond with much greater force if Tehran attempts to block global oil shipments passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement shared on social media Monday, Trump said that any move by Iran to halt the flow of oil through the vital maritime route would trigger a military response from the United States far stronger than previous actions. According to him, the retaliation could be “twenty times harder” than what Iran has faced so far.

The U.S. president also suggested that American forces could target sites that are easier to destroy but critical to Iran’s ability to rebuild its infrastructure and national capacity. Trump used strong language in his message, warning that such a confrontation could bring devastating consequences, though he expressed hope that the situation would not escalate to that point.

Earlier in the day, while addressing Republican lawmakers at his golf club near Miami, Florida, Trump indicated that the ongoing military campaign involving Iran might not last long. He described the operation as a limited mission aimed at removing threats in the region.

However, Trump made it clear that any attempt by Iran to disrupt international oil supply routes would significantly intensify the conflict.

The ongoing tensions have already begun affecting global energy markets. Disruptions to oil and gas supplies have pushed fuel prices higher in several countries.

At the same time, the conflict has forced many foreign nationals to leave key business centres, while millions of residents are seeking safer areas amid continued airstrikes. Reports indicate that military bases, government buildings, oil and water facilities, hotels, and at least one school have been hit in the attacks, further escalating regional tensions.
